Protection of valuable natural non-forest habitats typical of the Orle Gniazda Landscape Park

Main objectives of the project

1. Preservation and protection of circa 100 ha of the most valuable areas of semi-natural dry grasslands and scrubland facies on calcareous substrates and rock grasslands on the area of the Olsztyn-Mirów refugium, the Złoty Potok refugium, the Kroczyce refugium and the Środkowa Jura refugium chosen on the basis of the literature data and the research by the Silesian Voivodeship Landscape Parks Complex.
2. Preservation and protection of circa 6.5 ha of rock grasslands from unregulated rock climbing traffic.
3. Removal of the invasive exotic species of the Sakhalin knotweed (Reynoutria sachalinensis).
4. Protection of non-forest habitats endangered due to intensive human penetration by means of development of the tourism infrastructure (the areas of 11 junction points and most popular sites).
5. Reducing the anthropogenic impact on the environment in four Natura 2000 refugia, i.e. the Olsztyn-Mirów refugium (240015), the Złoty Potok refugium (240020), the Kroczyce refugium (240032), the Środkowa Jura refugium (240009) by means of prevention such as Nature Protection Service, the police and the State Forests National Forest Holding patrols.
6. Activation of the local communities on the area of nine administrative districts in which the project is realized through introduction into the matter of environment protection and pointing the ways of rational farming and tourism.
