„The Silesian in Ponidzie” – meeting with Project LIFE13 NAT/PL/000038

On July 21-22, 2016 the Project employees (Artur Wojtasik, Piotr Niedbał, Milena Ziętek) went to the headquarters of the Beneficiary of the Project LIFE13 NAT/PL/000038 “Protection of valuable natural habitats in Ponidzie” – the Świętokrzyskie and Nida River Landscape Parks Complex.

On the first day of the visit, during the indoor part, the progress of the tasks undertaken by both of the Beneficiaries was briefly analyzed. The discussion of the methodology of grazing and the maintaining of ecological sustainability after the completion of the Projects played an important role in the meeting. Afterwards, the “Jurassic LIFE” Employees were granted the opportunity of viewing the grazing equipment used in the field and seeing a seed orchard which is the genetic reserve for the plant species typical of Ponidzie.

On the second day, together with the Employees of the Project LIFE13 NAT/PL/000038, we went out into the field to view the effects of the completed tree and shrub removal and sheep and goat grazing in progress.

During the field session we had the opportunity of admiring outstanding natural and landscape features of Ponidzie.
