We have started sheep grazing!

In August 2013 sheep grazing has started in the area of the Orle Gniazda Landscape Park. 16 areas for sheep grazing have been pointed out in the area of four refugia which are also Natura 2000 sites: Środkowa Jura, Kroczyce, Olsztyn-Mirów and Złoty Potok.

The grazing site will encompass Zamkowe Hill, Skałki Duże and Skałki Małe in Olsztyn, Bukówie and Kazubiec Hill in Trzebniów, areas in Piaseczno, Rzędkowice, Ryczów and Wodąca Valley. The grazing is carried out simultaneously in a few areas at the same time. 24 sheep were bought as a part of the projects objectives: 2 rams and 22 ewes.Shepherds use the purchased infrastructure including corrals and trailers.

According to the schedule, grazing will be carried out till end of September in 2015. The correct course of grazing is overseen by the representatives of the Silesian Voivodeship Landscape Parks Complex and 2 scientific consultants: a  botanist and an expert from the Silesian Centre for Agricultural Consulting.
